Bečov, earlier also presented as Český Bečov, is located in a landscape, which attracted settlers by its vegetation and cli-matic conditions as early as in the earliest times. This fact is proved by numerous archeological findings. Relics of the grave-mounded,
La Tene , Uněti ce and Knovíz culture were uncovered in the area of Bečov. The oldest written refer to Bečov dates back to the year 1327. It is the feudal document of the king John, by birth Luxembourg, by which the community allocated in fief to the lords of Bergov. At that time the parish village of Bečov was promoted a small town in the year 1420. Since the year 1501 it belonged to the manor of the family of Lobkowicz. Bečov has been estimated as a big community since the first half of the 18th century, with the stone building in its major part. The church of St. Jiljí's became its dominant at that time. Near surroundings is not without places of interest as well. In particular, the near community of Zaječice lying north of Bečov became famous for its mineral water with the content of Glauber's salt.

The natural relic of Chloumek ( 250 m above the sea level) - size 1,46 ha, declared in the year 1969, protection of preserved prairie grass
The natural reservation of Písečný vrch (318 m above the sea level), - size 39,16 ha, declared in the year 1996, unique archeological locality, occurance of endangered species of plants and animals.
