The name of the community is derivated from the original one - Havranův Dvůr. In the 15th century the owner of that time passed Havraň to the city of Most with approval of the king Vladislav, by birth Jagellon, and the community became its agricultural background gradually A meaningful agricultural plant of this area was sugar- beet, which had been treated in a local sugar factory (from the year 1882) since the 19th century. Its operation was terminated towards the end of the 70's of last century. At the beginning of the 20 century Havraň had passed through building changes, that let buildings with signs of urban architecture behind themselves. Despite numerous liquidation actions, the community kept this appearance up to now. Ponds on the northern margin of the community alongside the Srpina brook are being utilized for recreation and pond fishing.
