The community of Malé březno lies in the south-eastern agri-cultural part of the county. The oldest evidences of permanent th settlement date back to the second half of the 13 century. Its name
is derivated from an original one - Březen, or also Březový les. The denotation of Malé was added to the name of Březno in the year 1945. One of meaningful owners, from the historical point of view, was
Jaroslav Boryn of Lhota, who had owned the country estate of Malé Březno since the year 1565. In the year 1597 he let a church tower with the coat of arms of his family be built in the community, and this tower has been still standing up to now. But for the reason that he had led his retainers to Protestantism, all his property was confiscated after the Czech States Revoltion (1621). Malé Březno consequently passed through Re-catholicization. The family of Lobkowitz acquired the country estate in the year 1672. In the 20 century the community was sentenced to be liquidated, and a spoil bank should have arisen on its place. In the end, another place was determined for this spoil bank, and Malé Březno was not listed as the next one „disappeared“ community of the basin under the Ore Mountains.
