Volevčice is being found in a predominantly agricultural area on the southern margin of the Most district. The community of Volevčice appeared in historical documents the first time in the year 1333, when it became the property of the Osek nunnery. As early as in the 14 th century the Gothic church of St. Havel had been built here, and the one-naved church of St. Prokop was built on its place in the year 1840. This church has presented the dominant of the community up to now. The Velká Volavka hill is located in the vicinity of Volevčice, the only area, where halophytic plantain seaside grows. Owing to the salinity of clay at the foot of this hill, "nanism" - miniaturization is appearing at plants.
